Deep Blue - Homage to Amano

Description

A mimic done for a pseudo-art class. The idea was to reproduce an artist's work in your own style, but conveying the same subject or meaning. The idea was not to copy perfectly, but to do it as you would have done it.

Original is [link] on the bottom left. Please someone, I can't find what this piece is named on my own, if you recognize it I'd love you forever if you could tell me what it's called.

Original by Yoshitaka Amano. A.k.a., My Lord and Savior. -SHOT-

No really, I worship the man. I cry seeing video of him drawing. I dream in his painting style and wake up inspired as hell. I page through his artwork and wish I was there to see what his process was. Absolutely adore his work. It's just so sublime.

I don't like what I've done, partly because my crude style looks absolutely pallid in comparison to His Holy Watercolor'dness. But... Whutever... I got a lot out of doing this, including doing watercolor with pencil lines. I'm loving that process.

Well done with the watercolor. Love the gentle, transcluent hues. You should make more rich and light watercolour stuff like this. ^^ It stands out. Heh, I love Amano-sama too, his visionariness and there's something very very fine in the fragile lines he leaves visible in his pieces. Mimicking your idols sometimes is a good way to study, isn't it? :)
